Alex Felmeister
Alex is an avid cycling hobbyist and participates in local club riding on and off road with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and Pioneers Cycling. He is proudly a class-B social road rider, and by social… he talks about bikes, bike components, and bike fitness non-stop. Alex is a huge supporter of charity-based athletics specifically geared towards pediatric research. He is a research scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Biomedical Informatics where he even organizes a small weekly ride comprised of software developers from CHOP to get people away from behind the keyboard. Some of his favorite events are the Eagles Autism Challenge benefitting Philadelphia autism awareness research and causes and the CHOP Parkway Run benefitting CHOP’s Cancer Center where he serves as an ambassador for CHOP employee participation and fundraising. He also takes pride in Philadelphia local businesses and enjoys connecting local companies and advocacy groups that have changed his life through the love of cycling.
In 2020, Alex is looking forward to participating in local cycling events that will challenge his cycling fitness, making new bike friends, and bringing awareness to the amazing cycling resources we have in Philadelphia. When not riding roads with BCP in Summer, you can find Alex on his trusty cx bike named “Liza with a Z” frequenting the shops up and down the west side of South Street to and from his work. You may even find Alex power-zone training at his local spin studio, @revel_ride, or chatting about his next dream component upgrade at Bicycle Therapy.
