The Philly Bike Expo is an annual weekend-long event featuring exhibitors, seminars, presentations and events representing the spectrum of cycling. Founded by Bilenky Cycle Works in 2010 as a way to promote cycling culture, the PBE has grown to one of the largest cycling trade shows in the US. Last year’s sold-out show hosted nearly 150 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees.
Meet the Core Crew.
We are the folks behind the scenes, leading the Squad, registering exhibitors, fixing the website, putting out fires, making the coffee (and tea) and spreading the love and joy of cycling!

Bina Bilenky
Owner and Director
Bina is the Owner and Director of Operations for the Philly Bike Expo. Bina was always surrounded by bikes growing up, but started cycling after her father, Stephen Bilenky made her an S&S coupled touring bike. Bina took a leap into bike touring as the assistant tour director of the 4 month Tour d’Afrique. She lives in Lewisburg PA and has a deep love for Central PA gravel roads.

Stephen Bilenky
Founder
Stephen Bilenky is an American bicycle framebuilder and the founder of Bilenky Cycle Works, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began building custom steel bicycle frames in the early 1980s, earning a reputation for craftsmanship, durability, and highly personalized designs.
Bilenky is known for creating custom road, touring, cyclocross, tandem, and cargo bicycles, often tailored to unique rider needs. His work helped revive interest in hand-built steel frames during a period dominated by mass-produced bikes, and he has mentored many builders who have gone on to establish their own framebuilding careers.

Aaron Bilenky

Aaron Bilenky (@ambilenky) is a cyclist turned runner turned endurance triathlete. With 4 Ironman races under his belt he has his eye on completing both the Leadville 100 mountain bike race and trail run. Aaron has the patience of a saint and is happy to ride and run at whatever pace his companions need. We see coaching in his future! Aaron is tech guru extraordinaire for the Expo and fills his off the bike time with roasting coffee, app development and baking complex pastries and breads.

Mark Yanagisawa
Squad Co-Founder
Mark Yanagisawa rides out of Philly. At a young age, Mark could be found in his backyard, launching his bike off of anything that resembled a jump. After nearly two decades of swimming, Mark started cycling and racing triathlons to feed his competitiveness. Today, Mark can be found in his PBE kit, pink helmet and Goodr sunnies leading group rides, shredding trails, or racing gravel events.
Mark came on board in 2017 and is our fearless and inclusive Squad leader. Mark is a phenomenal athlete, hype man and go to guy for anything from graphics to marketing to logistics.

Ryan Schumacher
Squad Co-Founder
Ryan Schumacher (@swim.bike.ryan) pedals around the City of Brotherly Love, Philly. Ryan started running at a young age, but it wasn’t until at Stanford University when he found (and excelled) at the sport of triathlon. Last year, he received his professional status as a triathlete. Ryan loves spreading the joy and love of cycling during road and gravel events. Ryan is a valuable addition to the Expo team and came on board in 2017 when he offered his services for whatever we needed. We took him up on it and haven’t let him go. He routinely texts me “do you have time for a quick call today? I’ve got an idea.” Ryan’s ideas are always genius and his enthusiasm even more so. (He’s also a stellar babysitter). We are excited to follow him at local races, triathlon and road including Monkey Knife Fight and LLWH! We also fully expect him to defend his title for the 3rd year in a row at the Basset Ice Cream 5k where he currently holds a time of 21:03 (18:15 the previous year) including the time it took to shovel in a pint of ice cream.
